چکیده

The title compound, propyl gallate (III), is an important substance popularly used in the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. Current chemical syntheses of this compound are based on acylation supported by thionyl chloride, DIC/DMAP or Fischer esterification using a range homogenous heterogenous catalysts. In paper, efficient, green, straightforward, economical method for synthesizing potassium hydrogen sulfate, KHSO4, as acidic catalyst has been developed first time. addition, paper provides comprehensive spectral dataset especially new data DEPT 2D NMR (HSQC HMBC) spectra which not currently available literature.

Tannase from Aspergillus niger van Teighem has been used for synthesis of food additive antioxidant propyl gallate by direct transesterification of tannic acid. The optimized yield of 86% was obtained by using simultaneously pH tuned enzyme, immobilized on Celite and using the right amount of water in the non aqueous media.
